Head and Torso: Life Sculpting, Moulding and Casting
I started by making a wooden armature which I wrapped metal wire around and added butterflies to keep the clay on.
Using a life model for reference I used a pair of callipers to take measurements which I scaled down for the torso (1:20) and worked from.
Once finished sculpting I moulded the pieces in silicon, created a Jesmonite jacket and cast in plaster.
When dry I spray painted the pieces and mounted them on books to give it an old person study look.
